Human and Community Development (Ver.20071211)
Human and Community Development is the keyword of the Kobe University Graduate School of Human Development and Environment, which was founded in fiscal year 2007 after a reform of its philosophy and structure. The content of this new field of research is comprised of the following: Kobe University cooperates with the community, government, corporations and citizens, gaining the cooperation individuals with different positions, such as professionals and non-professionals, in order to develop new value in civil society while organically combining human development and the formation of civil society.
To give a broad explanation of the purpose of the research, it is to place the values of research and education within the process of creating a community (individuals, groups, region, and environment), while at the same time treating humanity with great importance.
To state the position of this research in another way, it is to combine two areas which tend to be separated, namely, (1) the development of humans as individuals, groups, and types, and (2) the changes in the environment surrounding humans, thus discovering a new field of research.
For example, phrases such as the following comprise the core of this field of research.
